Mac Love, Not War

Engineered
As a computer consultant I get to walk into and clean up a lot of messes. Sometimes these are messes created by months of misunderstanding or simple neglect: logical misarrangement or the organic detritus of any natural process over time. Sometimes these messes are caused by a single catastrophic mistake...

BetterHTMLExport 2.3.2
I have shipped the latest maintenance release of BetterHTMLExport, version 2.3.2! Included in the changes are: Added “Replace Existing Files” option - Uncheck this and BetterHTMLExport will abort instead of replacing existing files Fix for only exporting to the first directory chosen Fix for reading ISO from images Changed tab to “BetterHTMLExport” Fix for crash when selecting cancel Fixed Documentation button on Info Panel The “Replace Existing Files” option, on by default, allows you to disable the ability for BetterHTMLEXport to replace any existing files (duh). This is a good feature for those concerned about the software replacing any files.

For those of you using a MacBook Pro and a second monitor attached keep this in mind. There is a known bug that when you close the lid of the MacBook Pro it forgets about the monitor on your computer. Now this only effects people using an external keyboard and mouse with the lid closed while using the external monitor. When you open the lid back up it will not light up again until you go to the monitors control panel on the external monitor and tell it to look for other monitors (detect displays). At that point the internal monitor will light up and you will be able to use it again. This happens under 10.5.2 according to Apple, but I have seen it under 10.5.1 also «details»

PMUG CAN HELP!

The Portland Macintosh Users Group is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the education and support of its members. Through the exchange of knowledge and experience we offer personal support to owners of the newest Apple desktop and laptop computers running OSX and older Macs using OS8&9.

During our meetings, classes (many are free) and special Interest Groups members learn about computer setup, operation and maintenance. We also share information about a broad range of shareware and commercial software.

PMUG College offers a monthly series of classes from basic to advanced that are designed to help members get the most from their hardware and software.

In our classes and seminars you'll learn how to successfully use CD and DVD burners, printers, digital still and video cameras,, modems and other equipment.

Twice a year PMUG presents MacCamp, a weekend retreat in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains at Silver Falls State Park. In the parks meeting halls expert instructors teach classes on the Macintosh Operating Systems, networking, graphics, web site design, video editing and a variety of other topics.

Here are some pictures from the MacCamp in April 2004.
