March 13th General Meeting: 2-Factor Authentication and how it protects you
March 9th, 2017 by jyamada

Apple is pushing its users very hard to upgrade to the latest security standards. They feel so strongly that something called 2-Factor Authentication can help protect its users that macOS 10.12 Sierra even includes a deceptively simple dialog box to switch the feature on for users.

We will explain in plain english how this protects you and show in a live demonstration why despite the caveats of inadvertently setting up this feature, it is still a good idea to consider upgrading your Apple ID account to 2-Factor Authentication.

Come join us at the Jean Vollum Natural Capital Center (Ecotrust Center), 721 NW Ninth Avenue. Question and answer hour starts at 6:30pm, with the main discussion starting around 7:30 pm and ending at 9 pm.

If you find that you want to divest yourself of your old Apple hardware to make way for something new and shiny then you can bring up to 5 items to swap at the meeting.
