There are lots of great Apps for macOS and iOS mobile devices at very reasonable prices, including games. Even getting the right accessories is not as easy as it used to be. Join in on the fun as we show off cool gift ideas, and answer questions to make sure you get the gift right. Topping off the night, we give away copies of Parallels Desktop 15 to 2 lucky members in attendance!

Come join us at the Jean Vollum Natural Capital Center (Ecotrust Center), 721 NW Ninth Avenue. [Apple Maps] [Google Maps] Question and Answer hour starts at 6:30pm, with the main discussion starting around 7:30 pm and ending at 9 pm.

If you find that you want to divest yourself of your old Apple hardware to make way for something new and shiny, you can bring up to 5 items to swap at the meeting.

We WILL be having PMUG College tonight, Nov. 2nd.
This week we return to information about macOS, the system for your desktop or laptop computers. Come join us even if you did not send a previous message.
These classes are held at the Rose City Park United Methodist Church. This is at 5830 NE Alameda Street in Portland. The class is from 7:00p-9:00p in room 208 which is upstairs in the east portion of the building.
PMUG College Oct. 26 is about Photos on iOS

This week’s class at PMUG College is iOS photo management. Included will be Apple’s Photos program. Also explore other apps recommended by PMUG members. Classes are free to PMUG members and $10.00/each for non-members.

In case you were thinking about venturing out to class Thursday Feb 2nd, we have decided not to meet because of the ice/snow forecast.

Next week we will turn our attention to the iOS that runs the iPhone and iPad. It will cover basic tips and tricks that can save you lots of trips to the Apple store.

PMUG College returns!

This series of classes is free to PMUG members, and only $10/class for non-members.

We are ready to resume our rotating series of classes for users of Macintosh computers and iOS devices. We will start with the Mac OS on September 4th. See the PMUG calendar for the schedule of topics.

Classes are held at the Rose City Park United Methodist Church at 5830 NE Alameda St in Portland (right off Sandy Blvd). We use Room 208 which is upstairs in the east portion of the church; enter at the door for the Pre-School. Class is from 7:00pm-9:00pm, so try to arrive about 6:50pm to allow time to get set up. If you have a laptop or iPhone/iPad, you can bring them. We project the teacher’s machine to a screen so you do not have to bring your computer.

If you plan to attend or have questions, please send an email to college@pmug.org or you can call (503)224-4289. Include your name, phone number and email in your message. (This is especially important later in the year when we may have extreme weather.) Always remember to check the PMUG web page for announcements and details of the week’s class.

If you cannot attend the Thursday night classes, remember you can get help at Tuesday Clinics.

Go check out CreativeLIVE – a web site that allows you to join online training for topics ranging from iPhoto 11 to business tips. Mostly aimed at photographers and videographers, you can view the live sessions for free, or pay to purchase a recorded version afterwards.  CreativeLIVE Coming up soon: Photoshop Elements 9 (June 21-22) and iPhoto 11  (June 23).

Happy May! Today, May 3rd, the PMUG Clinic will be at The Mac Store in Beaverton (3205 SW Cedar Hills Blvd #20). Bring your questions; We are there from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.

On Thursday May 5th, we start the next series of PMUG College – free classes held on Thursday evenings.
