Spring 2020 MacCamp

It is time again for PMUG’s Apple oriented socializing. MacCamp is a MUG members only weekend retreat that includes classes, recreation, networking, and social activities. MacCamp starts on Friday evening and continues until Sunday afternoon.

The next MacCamp will be April 17-19, 2020. We will be at Oral Hull Park just outside of Sandy, OR. Our lineup of presentations will include:
Friday Night: Steve Riggins will give a peek into how macOS applications are created using Swift.
Saturday Morning: Erik Rogers will give you security tips covering what to watch for including over wifi and Bluetooth.
Saturday Afternoon: Loren Leed wraps up his series on Apple’s Pages application.
Sunday Morning:  Join a discussion on Apple Arcade, and other gaming sources.

These classes, activities, food, and lodging are included in your registration fee. We will have sleeping spaces in the dorm across from the dining hall and presentation space.

If you are a member of another Macintosh Users Group you don’t need to join PMUG. All user group members come for the same price as PMUG members. If you are not a member of a User Group, you can join PMUG for only $42 per year. Go to our signup page for instructions on how to join.

This event is not for profit, PMUG does not make money on the event. If by some chance we do make money, the profit will be used to make your next MacCamp even more enjoyable.

Sharing – Not all learning is done in the classroom. MacCamp is an excellent opportunity to meet new people, exchange knowledge, and just have a good time. We hope you will invite a friend to come with you.

Help – Instructors and other knowledgeable people are available throughout the Camp and are willing to help with any questions or problems you may have.

Games – Pit yourself against the software. Battle one on one with another camper, or join a network melee and contend with several opponents at once. Join a group and help unravel a new puzzle. Find out just how social an activity computer gaming can be.

Snacks – If regular meals just aren’t enough – snacks and drinks can be brought and shared during those late night sessions.

Insomnia – Prepare yourself for some late evenings. Most campers find themselves up much longer than expected.

Interviews – If you have not joined us before and want more information, Loren Leed has posted videos with MacCamp attendees. These are a great way to get a feel for what MacCamp is all about.

The cost for User Group members will be $175.00. This covers the food and lodging for Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.
